20 Year Old With Cerebral Palsy Seeks Grant Money For More Schooling
by Joneisha Johnson
(Auburn Hills, MI, USA)
I am 20 years old. I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy in my right arm when I was born.
My whole right side is handicapped. I walk with a limp and there is only so much I can do.
I have always tried to do my best but some things are out of my control and everything isn't always as perfect as it seems.

Currently I am renting an apartment by myself that I cannot really afford; it's very expensive. All low-income apartments in my area have a three-year wait list.
I am tempted to quit the job I have at Popeye's, because the labor is too hard for me to bear and the job is very stressful. I am cheated off of my hours and pay. Every day, I'm talked down to like I will never accomplish my goals or be someone.
I cannot receive financial aid for school. I was not receiving the help I needed and I failed classes. I really would like to get a degree so that I can get a better job to take care of myself.
I am asking for help to accomplish my goals. Thank you for listening to my story and wish me luck. Sincerely, Joneisha Johnson.
