24 Year Old Disabled Man Seeks Grant Money For Normal Life

by Eric G Michael
(Fairview, WV, USA)

My name is Eric Michael. I am a 24-year-old male from West Virginia.

When I was only 16 years old I weighed close to 390 lbs and was constantly fighting the diets and the chest pains that became worse over time.

When I was 16 my doctor had introduced me to a surgeon that specialized in gastric bypass and at the age of 16 we both agreed the bypass might be my only option.

The surgery was in the summer of 2002 and following the surgery the weight basically just fell off, I was told that had a lot to do with my age.

Then the following year I was back in the operating room for an emergency surgery to save my life because of a ruptured ulcer on the seam of my stomach.

Then only 6 months later, again I was rushed into the Operating Room for another rupture in my bowel and stomach again.

This has basically continued non-stop since the summer of 2002 until now with the most recent surgery in February 2010 to once again repair perforated ulcers, ruptured bowel, stomach and my esophagus had been torn away from my stomach.

I have had about 6-7 surgeries from 2002-present and 4-5 blood transfusions from 2002-2010.

I have been told I may never recover and my doctor refuses to release me to go back to work.

I am a coal miner but unable to work since October of 2009 because of these problems coming back into my daily life.

I have been denied for disability, even though my doctors say I shouldn't have trouble getting it.

I am scared and I am miserable. I will regret my decision until the day I die.

I am like no other 24 year old I know. I have become the kind of person who hates waking up everyday knowing its just another day another struggle.

I have read about these government grants and knew I had to try and find out more. It's all I have hope left for.

I would love to be able to get just enough money to possibly invest into the small portable storage buildings for rental and actually getting a real business with my father's old leather shop, for making belts, saddles and such.

I also need financial help to be able to go to the Cleveland Clinic my doctor wants me to go to.

If anyone reads this and can think of anything I need to know I would really appreciate it if you could help me. Please, tell me what to do if you know.

Everything I have written is 100% the God honest truth.

I do believe people should pay for their own mistakes but at this point in my life I believe I have paid for mine and just want my life back to something to resemble a normal life.
