28-Year-Old Sharon With Cerebral Palsy Needs Government Housing Grant

by Sharon Barringer
(Charlotte, NC, USA)

My name is Sharon and I am 28 years old. I am going to start by telling you a little bit about myself. I was born with a disability called cerebral palsy, which affects the muscles in my lower body.

I am wheelchair-bound so I use my power chair to get around by myself. I live independently on my own and I love that very much.

I live on a fixed income and sometimes it's very hard for me to make ends meet.

After paying my bills I don’t have that much left over to do others things. I have a lot of dreams and goals to achieve but I don’t have the funds to do so. My blood family is not supportive at all! So I must go outside of the family and seek support.

One of my dreams is to buy my own home, which will have to be handicap accessible. Before I can buy my home, I need to pay off my debt but that’s hard to do in my situation. I am a part-time student working a getting degree and sometimes it's a struggle.

I love volunteering my time with children and dream of being an adoptive parent. I’m very outgoing and intelligent with a compassionate heart. It’s been hard for me to find grants that you don’t need to pay back.

I think that a government grant will help make some of my dreams and goals come true. Also it's going to decrease stress and worry.

I will truly appreciate any financial blessings that will come my way. Also I will remember those who reached out to help and thanks again.
