Disability Grant To Help MS Disabled Dale With Housing And Daily Bills

by Dale Coover
(Overton, NE, USA)

I am a 37-year-old male with Multiple Sclerosis from Overton Nebraska. I am part German and Irish. I live with my wife Debriina, my three kids, Michael, Katriena and Damion.

Disability Issues

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis seven years ago and I have been through a lot of relapses, steroids and other medicines to help.

I have part usage of my hands, legs and there are days my eyesight isn't very well either.

I go to Omaha once a month for my Tysabri, which is like chemo. I am also on antidepressants to help out with my disease.

Financial Hardship

I am struggling with my house payments, and to get my central air fixed. It's been hard to find people to help, as I was diagnosed seven years ago, had a lot of medical bills and so we had to file bankruptcy.

I can only do so much, and then my wife and kids help me out. We are really struggling to get back on our feet, as I relapsed again and did more damage.

Income Efforts

I was awarded Social Security Benefits, which pays $1300 a month.

SSI allows me minimum work due to my illness and I can't go back to my good paying jobs due to the damage done.

My wife works 20 to 30 hours a week, but it still doesn't get us caught up.

Specific Needs

We have trying all sorts of loans to help with the house, but the bankruptcy hurt us, so we need financial assistance.

I don't know about grants but I need help. It's been real hard to make it on my SSD and my wife's income.

It would be great if we could get help on our house and central air where it stays as one. I would like info on housing programs.

Thanks for listening.
