Grant Money To Help Disabled Woman With Relief Of Medical Expense Debt

by Josephine Mennicucci
(Budd Lake, NJ, USA)

My name is Josephine and I'm currently on disability again. I'm looking for government grant or other money for debt relief.

Two years ago I had reconstructive surgery on my left ankle. A pin was provided to keep a bone in place.

I was able to return to work, until the pin shifted almost a year later, and had to be removed in a second surgery.

I was able to return to work, but within the first week back my knees started to give me problems. Swollen with fluid, I had to have them drained once a week for five weeks in a row and injected with a medicine called Supartz.

Needless to say that didn't help and PT was of no help either. I finally saw an arthritis specialist and was tested for Lupus, Lyme, and other blood related issues.

All were negative except for one. It's called antinuclear antibodies (ANA) This is when your cells turn against your body's own defense system and eats away at your cartilage.

Now even though both doctors did blood work, drained my knees, shot me cortisone and looked X-rays and MRIs, the only thing they came up with is a torn meniscus in my left knee and a medial strain in my right knee.

I will need surgery on my left knee July 19th. Meanwhile I can't work or walk. (I use crutches or a cane most of time.)

My medical bills, along with car insurance, car payments, and rent are draining my wallet.

I'm also taking anti-anxiety medication more frequently as well as other prescribed medication. (NO PAIN KILLERS, just Advil and ice.)

I find myself tired all the time and not enjoying life as I once knew it. (The doctor prescribed antidepressant medication.)

I pray to God every night not just for me but, for my family, friends, and a close friend who, in the midst of all that's going on in my life, lost her fiancé of two years to renal failure. We were all very close friends.

I also lost two other people in my life that I knew very well.

I will pray for those who are less fortunate than me for we need all the help we can get, even if it's not in dollars and cents.

Our country money reads "In God we trust" and for these few people that toss pennies because they don't want them in their pockets, I will pick them up, stop and say a little prayer for the people who need every penny (including me) and I become one penny richer and a little wiser and feel a little better.

Thank you for you time and patience, Josephine Mennicucci.
