Hernia Disabled 37 Year Old Randy Seeks Government Housing Grant

by Randy Osmun
(Jonesville, MI, USA)

My name is Randy. I am 37. I have been married for 10 years to Gerri. I had 5 children prior to my marriage to Gerri.

Gerri and I conceived three times for children of our own. The first two ended in miscarriages.

The third one, a boy, Colton was born 18 weeks early and died shortly after birth. We now have Landon together. And he is three.

I have three grandchildren. All boys. We also have Albert. Albert is 25 years old and is low functioning.

We became his guardian in 2007 after we discovered he was living in an apartment with no electricity or heat, where his then foster family had put him as a means to not have to deal with his disabilities.

I was working in a factory. I have had a history of back problems. While working I sustained 2 herniated disks in my back with a tear. I decided to go for surgery.

After the surgery I was told that I had permanent nerve damage in my lower back. I have very limited mobility with severe chronic pain everyday that I must live with.

Due to living on disability my income is exhausted on house rent, and supporting my family.

My wife is unable to work at this time. Her life consists of assisting me with day-to-day activities as well as caring for our very active 3-year-old son Landon, and our 25-year-old foster son.

I receive monthly support for our foster son Albert, as well as my Social Security Disability.

My wife is attempting to open a photography studio and run it out of our home.

We have rented for the past 10 years. We've also resided in my mother's home from time to time when things went south.

I am looking for a grant that will assist me in purchasing a permanent home for my family.

My wife would love to have her own photography studio. Her dream is to do wedding photography, senior photos, family photos, etc. all in a professional manner.

Our plan is to operate it together as a means of another income but also as a hobby.

We plan to market the business via the Internet as well as local advertising and someday have a public business in the city.

I believe that if we had the opportunity to open this business and purchase a home that is completely ours it would give us the jump-start on our future that we missed so many years ago.
