Paul And Children Now Need Help Themselves
My name is Paul Galik. I've got disabilities that some government disability grant money would help with.
I have old-fashioned morals and values and have instilled them in my children as well. A shake of my hand is as good as my word and spit in my hand seals the deal.
I have always helped anyone that needed help no matter what is was. I put everyone else before my self all my life. I have never in my life turned anyone away from me without being able to help them. I have never been a materialistic person and what I have if someone needs it or likes it I will give it to them.
I have been in five major vehicle accidents and was the driver of only one. It was his fault. I should have died in all five. In May '05 the last accident I was in both hands were flipped backwards by the airbag. I have two discs in the neck and lower back that are bulging. I lose grip in both hands at any given time.
In July '09 I was rushed to the hospital as I had swollen three times my size. I was two hours away from death. I found out I have had Hepatitis C for over 25 years and didn't know it. All the jobs I have had I would help those people who injured themselves and I was the only one who knew what to do. So I have been around blood and caught the Hepatitis C that way.
I have three children two sons 19 and 22, and a 12-year-old daughter. We all took it hard and I still see the way it is affecting my children. That is a hard lump for me to try to swallow but I talk to them to help their spirits and understand that GOD is putting me through another test.
I try to live on the little SSI check I receive each month. It doesn't get the bills paid so I shuffle bills around each month to keep from going deeper into debt. I cannot work at all due to my injuries and I have been working since I was eight years old.
I'm 47 years old now and need a car to get to the four specialists I now have to see. I need a swimming pool, hot tub, and steam room for therapeutic purposes but cannot afford them.
I have never been on this end of being in need I always was the one to provide for everyone else. Any help would be greatly appreciated as much as it's taken me to ask for help.
Some government disability grant money would go a long way to helping me take better care of myself and my children.
