Osteoarthritis Disabled Linda Seeks Disability Grants To Build A Better Life
My name is Linda Alexander. I'm a 51-year-old woman on Disability. I have no children and I've never been married. I worked as a secretary at a major university for 25 years.

I've lived in Seneca, South Carolina since 1979. I moved here with my family in 1979 when my father retired from the Air Force. I live by myself in my parent's house.

Disability Issues

My disability began in 2012 when my knee began to hurt too much for me to work.

When I couldn't get to work on time and perform my duties, it became a situation where I was going to have to quit or be terminated.

I retired from my job, filed for Retirement and Disability and got both. The award was on the grounds of my osteoarthritis in knees and lower back, diabetic neuropathy in my feet, and depression.

I had surgeries done on my thigh wound (2011, 2012) and my hernia (2013). I have also been diagnosed with high blood pressure (on medication) and Type 2 Diabetes (on medication).

Financial Hardship

I receive $1069 on Disability and $1035 from my Retirement. My bills per month are as follows:

• Rent - $0 (my parent's house is paid off)
• Car Insurance - $77 per month
• Car Warranty - $59 per month
• Electricity - $175 per month (on average)
• Cable - $98 per month
• Internet - $55 per month
• Home Insurance - $141
• Cell phone - $45

Total bills = $650

Total left = $1454

This remainder is what I have left to pay medical bills, prescriptions, the water bill, repairs on the house, buy groceries, toiletries, clothes, gas for my car, and repairs on my car.

I need a new mattress and box springs, which I'll buy when I have enough money to do so.

Income Efforts

I earn extra money at times by doing at-home typing jobs (i.e., formatting theses and dissertations).

Specific Needs

I am seeking enough money for a new furnace.

I am seeking enough help to make a better life for myself. I want to be able to get back out in society and make a difference for others.

Overview of my needs:

• a new furnace
• psychiatric counselling and weight loss counselling
• enough money to help pay off some bills and be able to keep up with them

I'm just a 51-year-old woman who is living a day to day existence with no help and no light at the end of the tunnel. I want to be able to live life and visit my family and make a difference where I live.

Business Idea

I have already taken the knowledge I acquired in school and on the job and applied it to my typing/formatting gig!

I believe that with some online marketing training and a new computer I could make a viable business out of typing and formatting dissertations and research papers.

Available help
by: John Renaud

Hello Linda.

I just read what you have wrote here. I am sorry for your circumstances. Seems you are needing help to be more on your own. Have you tried looking up Schools on line, Most Schools are funded by Grants. Have you tried to research them? Some will even furnish you the Computer and supplies needed. There also are a lot of fund me sites where you will be able to get your word out just like you did here. I wish you all the luck and hope you will succeed.

The Workbook is next
by: Donald

Hello Linda,

Congrats on getting your story published! In doing so, you've acquired valuable hands-on experience in responding to precise instructions, the very kind that you will encounter when applying for help of any kind.

You've now earned the right to access the Workbook, which shows you how to use your story as a springboard to getting the help you need.

Cheers!
Don Coggan
