Disability Grants To Help Single Mom Halina Contribute Again To Society

Hello, my name is Halina and I live in Illinois with my youngest daughter and family pets. I've lived most of my life in the US and in Illinois.
Born in Europe, I became a US citizen in the mid 1980s. I attended school in the US including college for a degree in nursing.
I have worked hard all of my life, and spent the greater part of my adult life helping and taking care of others.
I am a 46-year-old single mom of two beautiful girls. I'm an ex-ICU nurse and student Health Coach looking for a grant to help with utilities, medical expenses, school and small business start up from home.
In February of 2010 I went in for a routine surgery that soon turned catastrophic. Two weeks after the operation, I developed an internal infection and by the eighth month was partially paralyzed.
I was diagnosed with systemic shock like disorder (Clarkson's Syndrome), autonomic nervous system damage, obturator and pudendal nerve damage, repeat infections, metabolic instability and chronic pain. I have difficulty walking, sitting and standing.
I suffered a poisoning from polypropylene and have had over 60 benign tumor growths removed.
Amazingly, I've been able to contain and reverse some of the complications created with naturopathic medicine but still have a ways to go and cannot make it on SSDI alone.
I have been a single mom since 1990. My ex has paid little to nothing in child support, but I was managing until I had my surgery.
Prior to my surgery I took care of my folks (Dad had Alzheimer's and Mom suffered a stroke) for a few years in my home until they died. I paid for two Catholic funerals, their last requests, which contributed to my financial demise.
I have not been able to work since surgical complications began and I was put on disability in October of 2010.
Since my original surgery, I have had multiple surgeries in attempts to repair the damages done. I'm currently awaiting pudendal nerve decompression surgery. Hopefully that will be the last...
I was approved for disability in 2010.
I'm attempting to seek further education - online certification.
I've made multiple attempts to establish an at-home business. Without backing or funding, it has really not gone anywhere.
I do not know about grants but do know I need help. It is difficult if not impossible to make it on SSDI alone.
I am looking for information on grants for:
- medical expenses
- utilities, primarily propane (for heat... as the winters get quite cold in Illinois)
- continuing education/retraining
- home small business start up
This will help me once again to be self-sustaining and be part of the contributing part of society.
I would like to open a small business from home and online offering:
- helping clients meet their health goals
- nutritional and recipe tips for health
- super foods and supplies
- infrared sauna therapy
I hope to bridge the gap between Western and alternative medicine for long term optimal health with a nutritional focus, which I have seen and learned first hand over the last few years.
My nursing experience puts me in a unique position to give clients the best of both worlds.
I hope to help others poisoned by polypropylene to take back their lives and be able to once again sustain myself and my family.
I currently have access to approximately 5000 folks suffering. With funding, I could start immediately.
Thank you for your time and consideration, stopping by and reading my story.
Yours in health,
Halina Kadlec Myers
