Disabled And Struggling Single Mother Of Six Needing Government Assistance
(Albany, NY, USA)
I'm a 45-year-old single, disabled and struggling mother of six needing government assistance. Three of my kids are still at home.
I have sarcoidosis, a disease of chronic inflammation that causes small lumps to develop in a great range of body tissues. It can appear in almost any body organ. However it mostly starts in the lungs or lymph nodes.
My sarcoidosis is the full-blown version meaning everything that can go wrong has gone wrong in my body. The only thing that hasn't happened is me passing away! i hope that I will live on for many years, bless my soul.
I have been trying for years to get the help I need to hold my household together. I've written to see about getting a government grant.
I've been living with sarcoidosis for 15 years. It all began when my 16-year-old was coming into my life, followed by a 13-year-old and an 11-year-old. As time goes by, it seems as if each new year brings new pains for myself.
Living with this disease and on disability and not being able to work meaning many times I've been falling behind or hardly paying my bills because I just don't have it. Not being able to work leaves me with little money to do family things or anything.
I have three kids that are growing up and need special things that the other kids gets on birthdays and Christmas because my kids only get what charity give them. I know my kids want to do normal family things that I just can't even began to afford with my bills at the same time.
At times my joints ache and swell so bad that I can't walk. But even at my weakest times I still have to get to struggle and try to make ends meet by sometimes calling family members asking to help on paying bills. If they don't have it then that bill just won't be getting paid.
Now after paying all those bills I hardly have enough to let my kids do normal things that young growing girls want to do. My heart is filled with hope that one day my family and I can live with a little ease and not have to struggle for the bills each month.
I could give my girls some of the things that deserve but more of the things they need. My family and I would be happy with any financial assistance or help in receiving a government grant to help my family out.
