Disabled Single Mother Of Four Seeks Government Housing Grant Money

Let me introduce myself. My name is Latonya Hinton. I am 37 years old and a single mother of 4.
I am a victim of domestic violence and I am struggling. I had my first child at the age of 14 and my last child at the age of 23.
I have been on my own since I ran away from home at the age of 13. I managed to raise two daughters who both currently attend college and two sons who are now in HS.
I stayed with their father who was very abusive to me until the day he died in October of 2005. I thought the horror was finally over.
Unfortunately I met a man 1000 times worse. The physical and emotional abuse are far too horrible to even mention.
Due to his abuse I am currently disabled and unable to work. I can no longer walk on my own.
All of these domestic violence agencies tell you to get out and stay out but they don't tell you that once you are out there is very little help available to you.
I am currently living in an apartment that should be deemed uninhabitable by humans but it is all I can afford living on disability.
I am seeking financial help of any kind. It is my goal to one day own a house of my own so that my children and I can always have somewhere to call our own.
I am also trying to get help repairing my credit so that I may be able to get a vehicle to get back and forth to doctor appointments and transport my boys to school.
They are currently riding the school bus where the violence is so outrageous they dread getting up for school in the morning.
