by David Brookshire
(Ball Ground, Georgia, USA)
I'm 47 years old, male, divorced. I have four kids and two grandsons and another grandson on the way.
My two oldest kids are grown but my two youngest are 14 and 12 and me having no income really hurts.

I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression and degenerative joint disease in my knees.
I've had for years my anxiety and depression. I self-medicated myself with alcohol because I was ashamed to let people know I had a mental problem.
Doctors have tried nearly every medicine there is for my conditions, but none have seemed to help at all.
My knees have been bad for years but have gotten worse the last few years.Financial Hardship
It's so hard to come up with the money to go to the doctors much less buy the medicine that they prescribe me.
I'm on food stamps thank God. If I wasn't I would go hungry.
If I don't find a way of increasing my income, I'll be homeless and not able to see my doctors or get my prescriptions filled. I won't be able to pay my child support.Income Efforts
My parents help me all that they can but they said they couldn't help much longer.
I've tried to find work but when they see my conditions they say they couldn't use me.
This is the first time I've tried t get help outside my family and I hope it works or I don't know what will happen to meSpecific Needs
I need money to help me pay my bills till I can get on Disability. It's been four years since I've been able to work.
I have a house payment, child support, insurance on my truck, doctor bills and medicine.Editor's Note
David, you mention having to pay child support. Is it for your two youngest? And do they live with you?
