Hope And Grant Money Needed To Help Couple With Gender Dysphoria Survive

by Laura McDonald
(Blairsville, GA, USA)

I am 38 years old and a biological female. I have a 44-year-old spouse who is a biological male.

In our household we are both sterile. My spouse always has been and I had a hysterectomy.

Disability Issues

My disability was first diagnosed in May of 2010 with multiple sclerosis and seizure disorder for which I have Social Security Disability Insurance.

Wouldn't you know, I received my master's degree in healthcare, but can no longer remember anything.

I am also bipolar, for which I should take Lithium but I do not. Last year I was finally diagnosed with gender dysphoria. I cannot find a doctor here to help me with that, as I wish to be put on testosterone.

Both my spouse and I wish to be physically matched to what we wish we were born with.

I do struggle with living, as I must, with my spouse not being able to work. As well, my spouse is waiting for Disability for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, spinal degenerative disorder and gender dysphoria.

Financial Hardship

We live on the $861 per month I get from SSDI, which is mine alone and all I get.

I wish to not keep putting off bills and home maintenance yet I do what I can. What I wish for is hope and ways to keep going.

I have no working car since I do not have money to pay to get it fixed.

It seems like life is going downhill but people say life can only get better. This is what I look forward to.

I need hope and ways to keep going forward. It is hard knowing what both she and I must live with on a day-to-day basis.

At this time I just wish to stop sinking and get financial help so I will see the light ahead of me. I live in Georgia Mountains and our situation is not looked kindly upon.

Income Efforts

I have attempted to get help from churches and donations to keep financially ahead.

I get SSDI yet that is all I am allowed to get in my situation.

Georgia Mountains limit all help here yet if I lived in the main city I would get more help or so I was told.

Specific Needs

I have Social Security Disability Insurance for myself and my spouse has been trying to get Disability for three years with help from a lawyer here.

I wish to get grants and advice in order to survive. I need sympathy to let me know I am not alone in this. I would like to know any benefits I might be allowed to get.
